# Raven vs Phantom: what each does and which to keep

> Keep Phantom for daily use, many chains and the app stores. Raven is for running many Solana wallets from one list, with a lower swap fee. You cannot simply sign up for Raven yet: it is invite only today, and its Chrome extension is pending Chrome Web Store review.

## Keep Phantom for

Most people should not replace Phantom with Raven. Keep it for:

- **Daily use.** Phantom is built around one wallet you use all day, with trading, sends and sites in one app.
- **Many chains.** Phantom lists Solana, Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base, Polygon, BNB Chain, HyperEVM, Robinhood Chain and Arc. Raven is Solana only.
- **The app stores.** Phantom is on iOS and Android as a normal app. Raven on a phone is [a web app added to your Home Screen](/docs/phone).
- **Ledger.** Phantom supports it. Raven's docs list no hardware wallet support, so savings on a Ledger belong elsewhere.
- **Perps and prediction markets.** Phantom has them where your region allows. Raven does not.
- **Getting started today.** You can install Phantom now. Raven needs an invite.

## Where Raven differs

Raven does a narrower job. It helps once you have more wallets than one list handles well.

- **Up to 1,000 wallets per account**, against the 100 accounts Phantom has published. Phantom's help centre gives no number today, so treat 100 as what it has said rather than a wall you will hit. [More on the limit](/blog/phantom-account-limit).
- **Moves across many wallets.** [Consolidate](/docs/consolidate) gathers many wallets into one in a single review. In Phantom, whose help pages describe acting on one account at a time, emptying 30 wallets is 30 sends.
- **A lower swap fee.** $4.00 against $8.50 on $1,000. Raven's [fee page](/docs/fees) works this out at $810 a year on $15,000 of swaps a month. Backpack charges 0% on swaps, so Raven is cheaper than Phantom, not cheapest.
- **Empty to zero.** A [gas wallet](/docs/gas) pays fees for the others, and Retire closes a wallet out and deletes its key.
- **AI rules per move.** Off, ask me, or on its own up to an amount, under a daily total. See [AI rules and limits](/docs/ai-rules).

What those moves cost: sending is free apart from the network fee. Split and Consolidate are free for 5 wallets, then 0.0005 SOL a wallet, so 30 wallets is 0.0125 SOL. Clean up takes 1% of the rent back. Private moves add 0.2% on top of the route. Split stops at 20 wallets in one go, and Raven is not an airdrop tool.

## What to know before choosing Raven

- **You cannot use it yet without an invite.** Join the [waitlist](/waitlist) and it emails you when it is your turn.
- **Chrome.** [Raven for Chrome](/docs/chrome) is pending Chrome Web Store review, so do not count on it today. Be careful with anything claiming to be it in the meantime.
- **Private routes.** As of 30 October 2026, Husher has paused all new orders, so Exchange pays and Through Monero cannot run. The Privacy Cash route does not use Husher. [How private moves work](/docs/private).
- **The server holds a locked copy.** Raven keeps your [vault](/docs/keys) on its server so it opens on other devices. It cannot open that copy, but your password is what guards it, so make it a strong one.
- **Young product.** Its docs name no outside security review. Start with amounts you can afford to lose.

## Using both

This is the setup we would suggest, and it needs nothing to move on chain.

1. **Leave your daily wallet in Phantom.**
2. **Bring only the wallets you run in bulk into Raven**, with a seed phrase or private keys. A [picker shows what each account holds](/docs/import) first.
3. **Check the addresses match.** Raven follows Phantom's main path, m/44'/501'/n'/0', so a phrase opens the same wallets. See [Solana derivation paths explained](/blog/solana-derivation-paths).

Remember that one phrase in two apps gives you two places to protect. If you only want a few wallets in Raven, import those keys alone, or make fresh wallets there. [Seed phrase vs private key](/blog/seed-phrase-vs-private-key) explains the difference.

## How we checked

On 30 October 2026 we read Phantom's help pages and developer docs, and Raven's own docs. We did not run a side-by-side test. Phantom's 100 comes from its post of 18 April 2023. Fees change, so the review or quote before you sign is the final word. ## Questions

### Is Raven better than Phantom?

For daily use, many chains and app store apps, no. Phantom is the better product. For acting on many Solana wallets at once, Raven does what Phantom's help pages do not describe.

### Can I use Raven and Phantom together?

Yes. Keep daily use in Phantom and import the wallets you run in bulk into Raven. Nothing moves on chain when you import.

### How many wallets can each hold?

Raven holds up to 1,000 per account. Phantom has published up to 100 accounts, in a post from April 2023.

### Can I download Raven today?

Not from an app store, and not freely. It is invite only, it runs in the browser and from your Home Screen, and the Chrome extension is pending Chrome Web Store review.

### Is Raven cheaper than Phantom?

On swaps, yes: 0.4% against 0.85% on most swaps, as of 30 October 2026. Some wallets charge less than either.
