# Earn

> Put SOL to work, and take it out when you want.

## Two ways to earn

### JupSOL

*SOL into JupSOL*

Your SOL is swapped for JupSOL through Jupiter. JupSOL is worth staked SOL and grows while you hold it.

| | |
|---|---|
| Least | Small amounts work |
| Starts earning | Right away |
| Getting out | Seconds, sold back for SOL |
| Raven’s fee | 0.1% in, free out |

### A stake account

*SOL staked with a validator*

Your SOL is staked with a validator from an account only your wallet controls.

| | |
|---|---|
| Least | 1 SOL |
| Starts earning | The next epoch |
| Getting out | Unstake, then withdraw |
| Raven’s fee | 0.1% in, free out |

## How to earn

1. **Tap Earn on a wallet.**
2. **Type how much.** What it earns a year shows as you type.
3. **Pick JupSOL or a stake account.**
4. **Review, then earn.**

## Getting out

Open the wallet, find the JupSOL or the stake under its coins, and choose **Unstake**. A stake account goes in two steps: **Unstake** now, then **Withdraw** once it is inactive, after the next epoch boundary.

Rates are shown as “about”, with when they were read. They change with the network.

> **Warning:** Nothing here is insured. Staking can lose value if a validator misbehaves, and JupSOL’s price can move against SOL.

## Under the hood

- **Epochs**: Solana counts staking in epochs of about two days. Stake starts earning and stops at their boundaries.
- **Your stake account**: Raven makes the stake account from your wallet with a seed, so your wallet is its only signer and its address can always be found again. It is then delegated to a validator.
- **JupSOL**: Getting JupSOL is a swap through Jupiter, with every check a [swap](https://ravenwallet.pro/docs/swap) gets. It opens a JupSOL account in the wallet, rent shown on the review.
