# Retire

> End a wallet in one go: cleaned up, emptied, and its key deleted.

Source: https://ravenwallet.pro/docs/retire

## What it does

- Clean up (dust and accounts) → Sweep (the rest goes out) → Read back (must be empty) → Delete the key (only then)

If anything is left in the wallet, the key is kept.

Raven takes 1% of the SOL that comes back from the accounts it closes. Sweeping the rest out is free. See [Fees](https://ravenwallet.pro/docs/fees).

## How to retire a wallet

1. **Open the wallet’s menu and choose Retire.**
2. **Check the wallet it all goes to.** Tap it to pick another.
3. **Read what happens to each coin, then retire.** The button is red because it ends in a delete.

## Under the hood

- **Delete last**: The key is deleted from your vault only after the wallet reads back empty from the chain. A move that did not fully land leaves the key where it was.
- **Rent comes back**: Every coin account is closed on the way out, so the wallet’s rent comes back to you as SOL.
