Is Solana traceable? What anyone can see about your wallet

Yes. Every Solana transaction is public forever: who sent, who received, how much and when. Trackers use that to link wallets that look unrelated, mostly through who funded them.

What anyone can see

Solana is a public ledger. Paste any wallet address into an explorer such as Solscan and you can see:

  • Every balance: the SOL and every coin the wallet holds, and what they are worth.
  • Every transaction: what came in, what went out, from whom, to whom, and the exact time.
  • Every app it used: swaps, stakes, mints and the programs it signed for.
  • Every wallet it ever touched, which is where tracing starts.

No account or permission is needed. It is all there, forever, for anyone.

What is not on chain

Your name is not, and neither is your IP address or your device. A wallet is just an address until something links it to a person. The most common links:

  • Exchanges. If you withdraw from an exchange that verified your identity, the exchange knows the receiving wallet is yours, and can be made to say so.
  • Posts. An address you shared, a domain name you registered, an NFT you showed off.
  • The other wallets around it. Which is how most wallets get grouped.

Wallet trackers and analytics tools group addresses that probably belong to one person. Their main clues:

ClueWhat it looks like
FundingA new wallet’s first SOL came from your main wallet
SweepingSeveral wallets send everything to the same wallet
TimingWallets act within seconds of each other, again and again
Amounts10 SOL leaves one wallet and 9.96 SOL lands in another a minute later
Shared fee payerOne wallet pays the fees for others
Same exchange depositSeveral wallets send to one deposit address at an exchange

Funding is the strongest. If one wallet funded fifty others, all fifty are tied to it in any tracker, permanently.

What breaks the trail

To keep a wallet separate, the SOL it starts with has to come from somewhere that is not you:

  • An exchange pays it. You pay a swap service and an exchange pays the new wallet from its own funds. Fast, but the service sees both ends.
  • Through Monero. The SOL leaves Solana as Monero and comes back to a different wallet. Slower, and the service still sees its part.
  • A privacy pool. You deposit into Privacy Cash and a withdrawal later pays the new wallet with no on-chain link. No company holds the money; the privacy depends on waiting and on how many others are in the pool.

See how to send SOL privately for times and fees, and then the habits that matter just as much: different amounts, a wait between in and out, and never sending the private wallet’s funds back to your main one.

Questions

Can someone find out who owns a Solana wallet?

Not from the chain alone. They can if the wallet is linked to an exchange account in your name, to something you posted, or to other wallets that are.

Is Solana anonymous?

No, it is pseudonymous: wallets are addresses, not names, but everything they do is public and linkable.

Do private sends make a wallet untraceable?

They break the on-chain link between two wallets. The service in the middle still sees its part, and patterns in amounts and timing can still give you away. Treat it as harder to follow, not impossible.

Raven can send privately from any wallet, so a new wallet does not start with your name on it.
