How many wallets can Phantom hold?
Phantom’s own blog says it holds up to 100 accounts. It shows one account at a time with no folders, so people who run more than a few dozen wallets usually add a wallet manager beside it.
The limit
When Phantom added support for several recovery phrases in 2023, its blog said you can create and manage up to 100 accounts in Phantom. Its help centre today does not state a number, so treat 100 as the figure Phantom has published rather than a hard wall you will see in the app.
What counts as an account
Every entry in Phantom’s account list counts, whatever it came from:
- Accounts from a recovery phrase. One phrase can make many accounts; Phantom adds the next one each time you choose Create New Account.
- Imported private keys. Each key is one account.
- Ledger accounts. Each address you connect from a Ledger.
- Watch-only addresses. Addresses you only follow, without keys.
Each account has an address on every network Phantom supports, so one account is your Solana wallet, your Ethereum wallet and so on at once.
If you sign in to Phantom with Google or Apple, you get one wallet per Google or Apple account, but you can still make many accounts inside it.
What it is like past a few dozen
Phantom is built around one selected account: that account sends, receives and signs. With many accounts:
- You act on one at a time. Emptying 30 wallets into one is 30 separate sends.
- The list is flat. There are no folders, so 60 accounts is one long scroll. You can rename and reorder them.
- There is no total. You cannot see what all your accounts hold together.
Removing accounts
Removing an account only takes it out of Phantom. Accounts from your recovery phrase can be made again from the same phrase. Imported private keys are not kept after removal, so back up a key before you remove its account.
Running more wallets than that
If you have outgrown one list, the usual setup is to keep Phantom for daily use and put the rest in a wallet manager:
- Keep the keys, change the app. The same recovery phrase or private key works in any Solana wallet. Nothing moves on chain when you import a wallet elsewhere.
- Check the derivation path. Phantom makes accounts on the path m/44'/501'/0'/0', m/44'/501'/1'/0' and so on. A manager that uses the same path shows the same wallets. See Solana derivation paths explained.
- Group them. Put trading, testing and savings wallets in separate folders so a bulk move never touches the wrong ones.
Raven reads Phantom’s path, shows what each account holds before you add it, and keeps up to 1,000 wallets in one vault with folders and moves that work on many at once.
Questions
Can I have two Phantom wallets?
Yes. Phantom can hold several recovery phrases and imported keys at once, all in one list.
Is there a limit on Solana wallets in general?
No. A wallet is a key pair, and you can make as many as you like. The limits are in the apps that show them.
Do I need SOL in every account?
To send from an account you need SOL there to pay the network fee, unless another wallet pays it for you.
