How to export your GMGN wallet's private key
You can’t. GMGN’s own docs say wallets on every GMGN chain (Solana, EVM and Tron) are prohibited from exporting private keys, and wallets you imported from outside can’t export either. The way to take your money with you is a withdrawal to a whitelisted address in a wallet whose key you hold.
The short answer
There is no button for it. GMGN’s wallet guide says: “GMGN all chains ( SOL chain / EVM chain / Tron chain ) are prohibited from exporting private keys.” It adds that “wallets imported from outside also can’t export private keys.”
So if you came here looking for the menu that shows your GMGN key, it does not exist. What you can do is move your coins out of GMGN into a wallet you control, and keep the keys you brought in yourself.
Why GMGN turned it off
Some older guides and posts still describe exporting a GMGN key through its bots. In March 2025, TechFlow reported that GMGN co-founder Haze posted on X: “To eliminate security risks and protect users' assets, wallets generated by GMGN do not support private key export.” GMGN’s docs today give the same reason in shorter words: “for the safety of user wallet funds.”
The docs also use a word worth knowing. When you log in with Phantom, GMGN says it “will create a multi-chain custodial wallet account based on your Phantom wallet.” Custodial means GMGN holds the key for that account, not you. Your Phantom key logs you in. It is not the key of the GMGN wallet that trades.
If a guide, video or post shows you how to export a GMGN key, it is either out of date or a trap. Do not paste anything into a bot or site it points to.
What you can and cannot take with you
| Wallet | Can you get its key? | How to leave |
|---|---|---|
| A wallet GMGN made for you (Telegram login, web or app) | No, GMGN blocks export on all chains | Withdraw to a whitelisted address |
| A Phantom login account | No, it is a custodial account GMGN made | Withdraw to a whitelisted address |
| A wallet you imported with its own private key | Not from GMGN | You already have the key, from wherever it came from |
How to move your coins out
GMGN’s docs say its Telegram bot “doesn’t support direct withdrawal operations.” Pressing Withdraw in the bot opens the GMGN website, and the steps happen there.
- Have a wallet of your own ready. Any Solana wallet where you hold the recovery phrase or key. If you need one, how to create a Solana wallet walks through the choices.
- Set up Google Authenticator on your GMGN account. GMGN requires it before whitelist withdrawals, and it recommends turning off cloud sync in the app.
- Add your own address to the whitelist. Open GMGN at its official address, gmgn.ai, and use Deposit/Withdraw in the upper right corner. GMGN says transfers are limited to whitelisted addresses.
- Wait out the hold. Per GMGN’s docs, withdrawals are blocked for 3 hours after you first set a whitelist or change an address, and for 24 hours after you bind Google Authenticator again.
- Send a small test first, check it arrived, then send the rest.
Two things surprise people. GMGN says “each on-chain wallet must maintain a minimum balance” to keep its data and pay transfer fees, so pressing Max does not send everything. And the network matters: “If you deposit via the wrong network, there is no way to retrieve it!” Send SOL to a Solana address, and coins on Base, BSC or Ethereum to an address on that same network.
Wallets you imported into GMGN
If you put a wallet into GMGN by pasting its private key, the key is still wherever you got it: Phantom, another bot, a paper note. GMGN cannot hand it back to you, so keep that original copy. If you lost it, the wallet’s coins can still leave through a withdrawal like any other GMGN wallet.
Be careful with imports on the EVM side. GMGN warns that when you import a new address into its EVM chain bots, “the old wallet address will be automatically deleted,” and “there is no way to help you recover your assets!” Importing into the Solana bot keeps the old address. Withdraw everything from an EVM wallet before you replace it.
GMGN’s docs also say the web multi-wallet system lets you create up to 10 Solana wallets and import up to 10 more, so a busy account can have many wallets to empty.
Keep it safe
- Nobody genuine will ask for your key or phrase. A bot or person who says they can “export” or “recover” your GMGN wallet is after what is in it.
- Type a private key only into the app it is going to, opened from the official address. GMGN’s own advice when importing: make sure “no dangerous program accesses your clipboard”, and consider typing part of the key by hand instead of pasting it whole.
- Check the whitelist address character by character before you save it. A wrong address, or one swapped by clipboard malware, sends coins somewhere you can’t get them back from.
If you think someone already has access, read what to do in the first hour after a wallet is drained. For what each kind of secret unlocks, see seed phrase vs private key.
A home for the wallets you withdraw to
If you trade with several GMGN wallets, you may want several wallets of your own to withdraw into. Raven Wallet is a Solana wallet manager that holds many wallets in one place, up to 1,000 in a vault, in folders you name. Keys are made in your browser and locked with your password, and Raven’s server keeps only that locked copy. You can also bring wallets in with a seed phrase or a private key, and a picker shows what each account holds before you add it. Raven is open to everyone: open Raven and make an account. Questions
Can I export my GMGN private key at all?
No. GMGN’s docs say private key export is prohibited on every GMGN chain, including for wallets you imported from outside.
Is GMGN custodial?
For Phantom logins, GMGN’s docs say it creates a multi-chain custodial wallet account. Either way, you can’t export a GMGN wallet’s key, so you move money out by withdrawal.
Why doesn’t Max withdraw my whole balance?
GMGN says each wallet must keep a minimum balance to preserve its data and cover transfer fees, so a small amount stays behind.
An old guide says the GMGN bot can show my key. Is that right?
It is out of date. GMGN’s co-founder said in March 2025 that GMGN wallets do not support export, and today GMGN’s docs say no wallet can export, so treat any bot or site offering it as a scam.
